QR codes - The Old New Thing For Martial Arts Academies.

When we started Dojo Muscle in 2010, within about 1 years time - everyone was talking about using QR codes, this was 2011, and it was a real thing.

I remember when people would send us these square pixelated images - Alan Belcher was one of the first people to send this to us on a purchase.

But the challenge back then was you needed an actual app - in your smart phone - that you would have to load up and use to scan the QR code.

I remember standing in Best Buy trying to get it to work - and it kept messing up. From that point I almost wrote it off entirely - thinking - well - this is another thing people have to do - another app and they already have a bunch of things going on - like managing social and a smart phone.

After a while it kind of died out - or so we thought. Then about 2017 iPhone updated to IOS 11 - and added QR codes as a camera function.

They still didn't really take off - but now they are literally everywhere. I just bought a new coffee machine and all of the video walk thoughs were QR codes.

Which shows specifically what is going on in marketing and branding - Video is king - better than big pages of HTML - and QR's are a great and easy way to get people from the physical world - to online - driving them to a web page of your choice.

QR codes, a technology that has been around for decades, are experiencing a resurgence in popularity.

But why are they so powerful? Let's explore three main reasons why QR codes are making a comeback.

    1. Easy Access to Online Content

One of the key benefits of QR codes is their ability to seamlessly bridge the gap between the physical and digital worlds.

By simply scanning a QR code with their smartphone camera, users can instantly access a website, landing page, sales page, or social media account. This ease of access makes QR codes a valuable tool for businesses looking to drive traffic to their online platforms. Any one can do.

    2. Ubiquity of Smartphones

With the prevalence of smartphones in today's society, almost everyone has a powerful QR code scanner right in their pocket.

As smartphones have become an essential part of daily life, the barrier to entry for using QR codes has significantly decreased. This widespread adoption of smartphones has contributed to the resurgence of QR codes as a convenient and effective marketing tool. It's part of everyone's phone now - no extra app needed.

    3. Integration in Traditional Media

QR codes are not just limited to digital platforms. They are increasingly being used in traditional media, such as television commercials.

By including a QR code in a TV ad, businesses can encourage viewers to engage with their brand online, driving traffic to their website or social media pages. This integration of QR codes in traditional media demonstrates their versatility and effectiveness in reaching a wide audience.

By incorporating QR codes into your print materials, such as business cards, flyers, or posters, you can easily direct people to your online content.

Whether you are promoting a new product, sharing important information, or running a marketing campaign, QR codes provide a convenient and efficient way to connect with your target audience.
